T3 - BTW Labs
What Is T3?
T3 contains Liothyronine Sodium, a synthetic form of triiodothyronine, one of the body’s thyroid hormones. Each pack contains 100 tablets with 50 mcg per tablet.
Thyroid hormones help regulate metabolism, temperature, and the activity of multiple organs. Liothyronine is used medically for selected thyroid-related indications under professional supervision. It is not an anabolic steroid.
How T3 Works
Liothyronine supplies active T3 directly, rather than relying on conversion from thyroxine, or T4. It acts through thyroid hormone receptors and influences how the body uses energy.
Excess thyroid hormone can increase heart rate and produce symptoms of hyperthyroidism, including palpitations, tremor, sweating, anxiety, and insomnia.
Thyroid hormone should not be used to treat obesity or promote weight loss in people with normal thyroid function. Excessive amounts can cause serious or life-threatening toxicity.
How to Use T3
Liothyronine is taken orally according to an individualized prescription. Treatment decisions depend on the diagnosis, laboratory results, cardiovascular health, and other medications.
Because T3 acts differently from T4, liothyronine and levothyroxine are not interchangeable microgram for microgram. Changes between thyroid medications require a clinician’s guidance.

Advice From BTW
Check the units
Liothyronine is measured in micrograms, not milligrams. These units are not interchangeable.
Use thyroid blood tests appropriately
Symptoms and laboratory findings should be assessed together when reviewing treatment.
Pay attention to cardiac symptoms
Chest pain, fainting, or a rapid or irregular heartbeat requires prompt medical attention.
Discuss stimulants and other medications
Some combinations can increase cardiovascular risk or alter treatment requirements.
Avoid treating weight changes as a dosing guide
Body weight alone cannot establish whether thyroid hormone replacement is appropriate.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is T3 the same as Liothyronine?
Liothyronine is the synthetic medicinal form of T3.
What is the difference between T3 and T4?

Is 50 mcg an appropriate starting dose for everyone?
No. The starting dose depends on the individual and may be considerably lower.
